Japanese Acupuncture

Japanese acupuncture is a style acupuncture based on the classical texts of Chinese medicine. It is much more gentle than traditional Chinese medicine techniques (TCM). I use small gauge needles, very superficially (1-2 mm insertion).
Japanese acupuncture has a different style of Moxabustion than TCM. Thread moxabustion uses a rice grain size, rolled herb called Mugwort/Aiye/Artemisia vulgaris. It is burned superficially
What distinguishes this style of healing from TCM or other modalities of acupuncture is our gentleness and emphasis on practitioner cultivation.
This is a very subtle form of practice requiring the acupuncturist to acquire a highly refined sense of the energetic system. The theory behind this is based on the classical texts instruction to use the minimal amount of stimulation to achieve the desired healing results.
